The Jenifer saddle was adopted as the official saddle of the Confederate War Department.
It proved to be very uncomfortable and not adaptable to many types of horses.
Glenn Pier Depot's stock Jenifer trees are made on a basic quarterhorse frame.
Jenifer trees are available in many different styles. Please see "more views" page for second style. Trees can be custom ordered to fit your horse.
The history of this skeleton-rigged Jenifer is vague as to its origin other than it did exist. There are few surviving examples. Custer was photographed on a captured Confederate horse with a version of this saddle. This version is fitted with tapadero style stirrups covers.
